This past weekend, Fall was beginning to be felt in the air. We are anticipating a brisk upcoming week. This inspired Clif and I to have friends over for a game night. Being it is so close to Halloween, I decided to scour the internet for some "themed treat" ideas. Much to my amazement, they turned out half way decent. I made way too much for the number of guests that actually came, but this will give Clif treats to enjoy throughout the week.
Ghosts, witches fingers, and eyes.
Mummies
More eyeballs.
On Sunday, the cool air was rushing into Central Florida. We decided to go for a walk around Lake Eola. We haven't done this in YEARS! They had lots of festivities going on around the lake. We meandered through the Farmers Market, enjoyed the swans, navigated around the World for Hunger run, and enjoyed watching the guests on the Swan Boats pedal their hearts out only to go nowhere because it was windy. We enjoyed making up our own narratives as we watched them... "But sir, what do you mean we have to pay for another half hour? It only took us 5 minutes to pedal across the lake. It's not our fault it took an hour to pedal back!" "Honey, were not pedaling correctly, our boat is going sideways!" "Standing and pedaling is NOT going to make us go any faster, if anything, you are going to end up in the water!" It was a type of fun we haven't experienced in a while. :)

Festival
This weekend, we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church. I love our parish because it is so diverse. So many cultures belong to it, and each bring their customs for all to enjoy. It has been a fun weekend. We shared fellowship, enjoyed entertainment, volunteered, ventured onto rides, sampled an array of international cuisine, and danced the night away (well almost...Clif and I left at 10:30). But we had fun none the least. I was grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of such a fun celebration. Here are a few pictures of our English choir providing entertainment during our 1/2 hour block.
We are singing Shake Your Booty, but because we're at church we changed Booty to Shaker. As you can see we are all shaking our shakers in rhythm.
We're looking at our choir director Christine to que as to start "You've Got the Beat" by the GoGos.
Brendon is playing the ukelele while we sing "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz.
We sang a sampling of 12 different songs representing decades from the 70's through the 21st century. It was fun to bring back memories from generations past. :)

We're not professionals, but we sure had fun performing. Not bad for only 3 rehearsals!
(Hopefully this is uploaded correctly!)
Here's another video sample of us singing "Walk Like an Egyptian"
This is a still frame just in case the video can't be viewed.

October 14
Exciting news on the homefront. Michael and Valerie are expecting a baby on June 3. We had both boys and loves over for dinner tonight to celebrate Valerie's birthday. We actually had 2 events to celebrate. :)
