A Visit with Auntie and Uncle

Levi is 1 week old today.  With Michael and Valerie being in town, they headed over to visit their new nephew.  Being I wasn't going to be there, I sent the camera along.  I appreciate them being such good sports and taking pictures for me!  Anyway,  thought I'd share.  Enjoy.

I didn't get one of Stephen, Amber, Chloe, and Levi, but then again, beggars can't be choosy!  I appreciate the pictures I got though.  They just melt my heart.

The Sprinkling

I learn something new everyday.  When a person nowadays has a second child, instead of having a Baby Shower, they have a Sprinkling.  That's exactly what Vicky had for her daughter Liz on Saturday.  Valerie came down from Tallahassee to join in the fun. Liz will be naming her boy Maddox, (Love it!) and her theme is nautical.

The gifts were more than a "sprinkling" but rather a shower!

It was a small family affair in which Aunts and Florida Cousins were invited to attend.  We were excited that Chloe was invited to come so Braydon would have a little playmate.  They played well together, and were very quiet.

Vicky had games for us to play, and we enjoyed our usual socializing getting caught up on the latest news.  I was especially excited to see Janet, Mary, and Julie because they usually don't have an opportunity to come!

Elizabeth had lots of gifts to open.  She got a lot of nice things.

Braydon thought the box was the best toy ever!

And Chloe showed us she could carry the balloons...no problem!

We had such an enjoyable day.  But then again, isn't always nice when you spend time with family?  Perhaps not always, but it is my favorite past time!

1 day old

I went to visit Levi, Amber, and Stephen today.  I realized yesterday when posting I didn't getting any of my own pictures of the 3 of them together!  In any event, when I got there I had to wait.  It was then that Levi had his eyes wide open.  Even though I missed it, Amber's sister Ashley was in the room and able to get some pictures.  I am grateful to her for sharing with me!

Stephen is enjoying his early stages of fatherhood.

I was able to once again have bonding time which I loved.

Levi grabbed a hold of my finger and just didn't want to let go.

But before I left, I made sure to get family photos to share.

Welcome Levi Carter Rando

Amber had gone into labor the morning of July 4.  Clif and I had thought perhaps she'd tootle right along so we were prepared to leave Winter Park to head over to the hospital when the call arrived that she was delivering.  However as you know labor has it's own course.

Amber delivered this morning at 11:02 by cesarean section as she never dilated beyond 5cm.  Levi weighed in at 8 lb. 2 oz. and is 20 1/2 inches long.  We are happy and proud to announce that Amber and Levi are doing well.  And of course, Stephen is a proud daddy!

These are the pictures sent out in the text messages...

Clif and I were able to visit this afternoon once she was out of recovery.   Little Levi was brought to Amber's room where he will stay until discharge.  It was a perfect opportunity for photos!

Here you go.....

He makes lots of different faces!

And yes, he has LOTS of hair!!!

The only one I got with his eyes almost opened.

Welcome Levi!  We LOVE you!

4th of July

Clif and I decided to go to downtown Winter Park.  For 20 years they have had a 4th of July Celebration and we have never been.  We decided next year to go again only earlier to catch all the festivities.  For the short time we were there, we had fun!

We didn't arrive until 9:45.  Many activities had already finished.  However, there was a DJ who was leading dance sessions.  Do you think I could just sit and watch?  NOOOO!  The beat caught my spirit and up I went to join in the fun.   Who cares I didn't know anyone.  I had fun anyway.

They had lots of balloons and necklaces to hand out.

The Orlando Cloggers put on a show.

Even the little ones enjoyed watching.  I must say, I enjoyed looking at each kid and how the parents decked them out in holiday attire!

They had a carriage ride,

...old cars,

hula hooping,

and games!

If we are able to go next year, we hope to get their early enough to watch the parade of kids on their bikes.  We only got a taste of what it must have been with all the little ones still in the park on their decorated bikes.  They looked so proud riding them around.

But, by 11:30, I realized why they start so early.  The heat had gotten to me despite the water I was chugging.  I got shaky so we decided to catch the farmer's market before heading out.  It must have been in the mid 90's!  Time to take refuge in the good ole AC!

Happy 4th!  Hope you all had a safe celebration. God Bless America!!! :)

A Current State of Affairs

I wanted to access coupons from Hobby Lobby's website before visiting their store.  Only when I got to their web page I was attracted to "In God We Trust"  and clicked to learn more.  Well, that got my mind reeling in all kinds of directions, especially in light of recent Supreme Court rulings over the past year, and needless to say I didn't get my coupon!   I got side tracked!  What else is new?!

With that being said, I decided to blog about some findings and insights.  Whether you agree or not is totally up to you, but it's a viewpoint in my opinion worth pondering.

"To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys... Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all blessings which flow from them, must fall with them."[6] · [7]    - Jedidiah Morse

Add to that scripture... (taken from The Way Bible)

Proverbs 28:14 Blessed is the man who reveres God, but the man who doesn't care is headed for serious trouble.

Proverbs 29:18 When there is ignorance of God, the people run wild; but what a wonderful thing it is for a nation to know and keep his laws!  (emphasis added.)

And lastly, Romans 1:18-32 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, evil men who push away the truth from them.  For the truth about God is known to them instinctively.  God has put this knowledge in their hearts.  Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power.  So they will have no excuse [when they stand before God at Judgment Day]
Yes, they knew about him all right, but they wouldn't admit it or worship him or even thank him for all his daily care.  And after awhile they began to think up silly ideas of what God was like and what he wanted them to do.  The result was that their foolish minds became dark and confused.  Claiming themselves to be wise without God, they became utter fools instead.  And then instead of worshipping the glorious, ever living God, they took wood and stone and made idols for themselves, carving them to look like mere birds and animals and snakes and puny men.
So God let them go ahead into every sort of sex sin, and do whatever they wanted to-yes, vile and sinful things with each other's bodies.  Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies.  So they prayed to the things God made, but wouldn't obey the blessed God who made these things.
That is why God let go of them and let them do all these evil things, so that even their women turned against God's natural plan for them and indulged in sex sin with each other.  And the men, instead of having a normal sex relationship with women, burned with lust for each other, men doing shameful things with other men and, as a result, getting paid within their own souls with the penalty they so richly deserved.
So it was that when they gave God up and would not even acknowledge him, God gave them up to doing everything their evil minds could think of.  Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness and sin, of greed and hate, envy, murder, fighting, lying, bitterness, and gossip.  They were backbiters, haters of God, insolent, proud braggarts, always thinking of new ways of sinning and continually being disobedient to their parents.  They tried to misunderstand, broke their promises, and were heartless-without pity.  They were fully aware of God's death penalty for these crimes, yes they went right ahead and did them anyway, and encouraged others to do them too.

What a sad state we have entered, but I have hope.  I believe that even though all this evil is going on, God in his mercy will remove the veil that covers our eyes. Truth again will enter our hearts, especially with as quick as everything is going, people will realize...wait, what are we doing? Repent (which means to change your ways), and earnestly strive to do so.  God has claimed all of us as His children, and He sent His Son Jesus Christ to show us how to do it!  He knows we can't do it on our own and that we will make mistakes, and that it is hard.  Look at what Jesus went through! He was constantly tested.  That's why we need a Savior.  Jesus picks us up each time we fall back into sin and gently leads us back onto the right path!  He alone knows how hard the temptations are.

God knows the natural consequences that come as a result of the decisions we make. That is why it is stated over and over again in Scripture that if you OBEY my laws the blessings will abound!  He knows the hurt that will come from not following his laws!  It's Natural Law, Divine Law.  Just as we parents know the hurt our own kids will feel when they don't heed our warnings!  If they're not obedient sometimes they experience logical consequences. Not what we inflict on them but rather what occurs from Natural Law.  However, even though they fall on hard times are we not there offering support whether they accept it or not?  Not much you can do if they don't accept it.  That is what is happening to God right now.  He knows what our choices are going to lead us to, but allows us our free choice.  Yet, He waits for us to return to Him.  We in this world are in such dire straights, and not many are accepting the guidance God has given us through Scripture.  It is only a matter of time before either we wake up, or Natural Law will occur and we will suffer the consequences.  Either way, the turnaround will happen and all will once again be good in the world.  History repeats itself!

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, whose people he has chosen as his own.
