Prayer

I am sure I am not the only one concerned with the direction of our country.  I have been praying since 2007 when I realized the ramifications of a potential elected president and what that would bring to the direction our country.  We found out.  This election is no different.  But I truly believe it is much more than just electing someone.  Transformation needs happen and that needs to come in each one of us.  When we become a Nation who has turned back to God, the shooting will decrease, the anger will decrease, the chaos will certainly decrease!  Perhaps this YouTube video will inspire you as it has me.  It is time we each do some soul searching, realize that our actions and decisions do affect others whether positively or negatively.  God will help those who put Him back as the priority in their life! Come back to HIM!

Food for thought.  A few weeks ago, I was substitute teaching in a 4th grade classroom.  An autistic boy (who is very intelligent) wrote on his white board upon arrival..."God why am I here?  What is the point of life? What difference does it make?"  If this doesn't stop you dead in your tracks as it did me, you're missing something.
Many kids today are not taught the respect of God, yet intuitively they know there is something more to life than just existing.  It is the parents responsibility to pass on the message of Christ in that we are all called to live God's will, not ours.  What are you doing to get to KNOW God, to LOVE God, and to SERVE HIM through others?

Love to all in Christ, Trish :)

Birthday Celebration

This past weekend, Diane, Sandra, Nereida, Michele, and I went to celebrate Aunt LaDon's birthday.  She is a spry 49 years old as she says!  We decided to spoil her.

I made dinner Friday night when I got there.  She had all the ingredients and told me how she wanted it cooked.  We had sauteed shrimp over white sauced spaghetti.  It was delicious.  (Forgot to take a picture of that...oops.)

Sandra made us a nice breakfast on Saturday.

I shared my "cozy collar" to relax her shoulders.  You heat it up in the microwave.  It gives off a relaxing scent and it is just the right temperature to relax those tense muscles.

We asked her, "What would you like to do this weekend?"  Play games and enjoy our company was her top priority.  We tried to convince her to go shopping, but she declined.  Little did she know her birthday present was a gift card to her favorite store!!!

We played Skippo.

We played Sequence.  I liked this board.  It's 2-3 times the size of a regular board.  It made it a whole lot easier to see the card choices!

Michele and Nereida made the birthday dinner Saturday night. The table was set with a Spring theme.

We had chicken bake, green beans, roasted potatoes, and a salad.

She can wait to sink her teeth into the delicious meal.

Nereida put trick candles in her cake.  The flames were like mini sparklers.  It was so funny to see them reignite after they were blown out.

Good thing you have good lungs Aunt LaDon!  You were such a good sport!

Aunt LaDon's friend, Kathy,  had made us each a scarf with yarn we had gotten Aunt LaDon for a Christmas gift.  It was the gift that kept giving.  Anyway, we had fun sporting the different ways we could wear it.

Seriously though, the scarves are beautiful and will get used on our cold weather days.  Thank you Kathy.  You did a fabulous job.

Sunday morning, we went to Service.  Aunt LaDon is a member not only in the choir, but also the bell choir.  We had seats right up front.

They did a fabulous job playing How Great Thou Art.  Enjoy!

Surprise!  The choir sang Happy Birthday after the service.

One last picture of the clan before heading off to the Country Club.

Aunt LaDon, you are loved!  Hope you enjoyed your birthday weekend as much as we did.  Thanks for treating us to brunch at the Club.  It was delicious!   May God continue to bless you.
Love You!!!!

Treasured TIme

This weekend I had the privilege of having both grandkids.  I am still awaiting the day when I can actually get a picture of the two of them TOGETHER.  They just don't sit still long enough. I thought perhaps trying to video tape would help.

NOT!

 Cropping works wonders though.

Okay, so we'll try again.  Only this time I find Levi is a good listener. :)

How cute of an outfit is this.  Not only does he look like a little bear cub, but his sweatsuit has a moose on it!  My two favorites!

Levi is just one happy little guy!

Oh the joys of being a Grandma! :)
