Bedroom Furniture

Perhaps you remember a blog I did back in 2015 where Clif had bought the wood for our bedroom furniture, then subsequent posts showing the progress he was making.  Anyway, here is the finished project.

  I had purchased a lingerie cabinet years ago, but didn't like how the stain turned out nor the hardware, but basically liked the design.  I used that idea to design our furniture and customized the dimensions for the size of the room and our needs.

Lots of space for my spiritual books.

He did such a professional job.  All drawers have dovetail joints and drawer slides. Real wood was used throughout. 

 No partical board.

It is so wonderful to have our closet back.  We had ALL our clothes stored in an 8 foot long standard closet. (No, we don't have a walk in closet!) Yes, shorts hanging on pant hangers, jeans, t-shirts, dress clothes, etc.  We now get to reorganize the closet with clothes that actually belong there.

Oh, the simple pleasures of life!

St Marks, Florida

After our adventure at Tom Brown Park, we went by the house, had lunch, then headed off to St. Mark's.  It is only about 40 minutes from Tallahassee.  It was a perfect day. Enjoy the sights.

We had taken a short hike to a viewing area overlooking a pond.

We thought if we were lucky, we might see a gator.

Well, we didn't see 1 gator, but many.

We played "I spy" to see how many we could find.

We saw 7 total.

You definitely would not find me swimming it that pond!

Tom Brown Park

Clif and I took Chloe to Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee so Chloe could have some fun time while Judith recovers from her severe cold in the hospital.

We were there for a little over an hour.  It is such a great park for families.

Now that we have come home and had lunch, it is time to venture out to see what other activity we can find. 👀

Happy Birthday Stephen

Stephen's birthday was Saturday.  We celebrated as a family by going to breakfast, then came to the house just to hang around and have some fun.  Levi is definitely Daddy's boy.  Stephen gets right down on Levi's level to play with him.   Like father, like son.

Grandma enjoys playing with Levi too.  We acquired blocks from them, so I was eager to help Levi build a tall tower that he could then knock down.  It's a favorite thing for preschoolers to do when I substitute teach in the county school system.  It teaches teamwork, and cooperative play.

I was hoping we'd have a "big crash".

Next, Grandma tried her hand at making a nice train track.  Stephen had built one a couple weeks ago.  It's a lot harder than it looks!

 The blue Thomas Tank Engine is battery operated and chugs along the track quite nicely.

Daddy has to show us how building tracks is really done. He enlisted Levi's help.

  Our adventures weren't done.  Stephen reminded me that his cars and trucks from his childhood were still in the shed and perhaps Levi would enjoy playing with those.  He was right!

Levi spent the night with us.  It has been a while since we've had our "Levi" time.  But, it was back to playing once again on Sunday.

Grandpa and Levi played with the motorcycle for at least 20 minutes Saturday night.  Levi wanted to do the same thing with Daddy.  It is amazing how well he does.

And, the family tradition continues.  Can you hear the NASCAR Race taking place on the TV in the background?  Let me tell you, Levi had his eye on that race just as much as the big boys, especially when the action was happening. 

What a wonderful weekend it was. :)

In for a visit

I was scheduled to spend the week of Feb 27- Mar 4 with Michael, Valerie, and family.  Well, things have a peculiar way of working out.  Because Michael was still on paternity leave until Feb 28, they decided to surprise us, and come here!

It was wonderful because with Clif working crazy work hours, not having a day off in 6 weeks, who would know when he would get to see Judith!


Ok, so Chloe does try her best to hold Judith.  I didn't realize how low she was until now.  My bad!

Chloe spent time finger painting.

Judith was just a bundle of joy.

And Chloe spent time playing with Charlotte.

Monday, I was going to follow them home.  However, God had other plans.  I woke up with a runny nose, clear, so allergies...

unless a cold is starting.

The AT&T guy came to fix our phone line and U-Verse connection.

It took literally ALL day.  He left at 5:45pm.  I wasn't about to leave that late.  I would leave in the morning.  Only I began to run a low grade fever.  It never made it above 100.2, and only for a few hours, but enough to keep me home.  I was disappointed I couldn't spend the week helping them out, but things work out for the best.

I was just grateful in God for knowing what was to be, and kept Judith from getting sick. :)
