Clif surprised me with an early birthday celebration to Disney's Magic Kingdom
on Saturday, Nov 11. The weather was beautiful so we opted for the ferry ride to the park.
Can't go to the Magic Kingdom without taking a traditional picture with the castle in the background!
We headed over to Frontier Land first.
The Jungle Cruise is temporarily named Jingle Cruise for the Christmas season.
I loved this "snowman".
The humor on the ride tickled my funny bone. All were Christmas puns.
My dad would have loved the humor they used!
Christmas decorations dotted the jungle.
I told Clif I have a hard enough time putting up Christmas decorations around the house and often feel overwhelmed. I can't image doing this on a Disney scale. They are amazing with how they pay attention even to the smallest detail. This is what makes them "magical".
It has been just over 10 years since we have been to this park. Clif was a great sport, and went on the rides with me. He knows I am just a big kid at heart. We felt very lucky throughout the day. The weather was 60% rain chance. We took our rain ponchos and umbrella. But much to our surprise, the downpours came when we were inside!
Imagine, no clouds going into the Pirates of the Caribbean, only to come out to see people soaked and the pavement with puddles everywhere. Rains came 5 different times throughout the day, and miraculously we were indoors for every one of them!! Thanks God!
In Fantasy Land, they have lots of new rides. We went on The Little Mermaid.
We also went on the Seven Dwarfs Mining Coaster. I would say the Mining Coaster was our favorite of the day. We were glad we ended our visit as this as our last ride. Tip: time to ride, just after the fireworks...no line.
Quick picture on our way back across the park to catch other rides before the fireworks.
The castle was transformed into "Frozen". It was absolutely stunning.
Best view of the night sky is on the Astro Rockets. I don't remember them spinning so fast.
This was one ride I felt dizzy on when I got off. That didn't happen when I was younger!!!
We left the park around 10:30 even though it was opened until midnight.
We needed to make sure we got adequate sleep before our Sunday morning Mass celebration.
Good thing I have Clif to remind me of these things. I would have stayed later, but in my shortsightedness, I didn't take in consideration that you still have to wait for transportation to take you back to the ticket center and parking area. We got to the truck at 11:30, and were home by 12:15,
in bed by 12:45. I was grateful for Clif's suggestion.
I would have never been able to get up if we got home much later!
Not only that, when we got home, there was a package at the front door from Diane. She is so thoughtful. She sent Christmas shakers and an ornament for the season. Thank you! I will be decorating Thanksgiving weekend with the grandkids. These will be wonderful additions.
And, I LOVED the card.
Love you all, and thanks for the many birthday wishes.
And, thank you Clif. It was a perfect birthday gift!
