Unforeseen Blessings

What a surprise!  I knew Stephen, Amber, and Levi were coming over for dinner tonight.  They were bringing steaks.  Yum!  But then when I came home from my Catechist kickoff and saw Michael, Valerie, and Chloe here too, well, that was an unforeseen blessing.  I would have the entire family home TOGETHER!  Imagine, no holiday, no special occasion, just an old fashioned family gathering. :)

Valerie had figured out a recipe this week for homemade cinnamon rolls and made them for dessert.

Clif on the other hand surprised the boys and made their favorite...peach cobbler!

Chloe had to go down for a nap.  She is now a big girl and slept in the big girl's bed. AW!

 

Once Stephen, Amber, and Levi got here, Chloe didn't waste time getting to Levi.

Chloe isn't used to having to share her attention.  She tried many different things to engage us.

Wrapping up in the quilt was one of them. She was having fun playing peek a boo.

But after dinner and having eaten not only Valerie's cinnamon rolls, but Clif's cobbler too, you end up with a sugar rush.  This is what results.  See video below.

Laughter filled the house, my heart was full of joy, and at the end of the night, I sighed gratitude for the unexpected blessings for the day!
